Location

The Surtuor Quarters. Where you see a car, that’s where the village’s main place is.

“Surtuor” means: above the tower. That tower dates from the Middle Ages and apparently
happened to be a prison. Today it’s a cultural center, situated slightly above the village center. The road from there up to the tower and further is called Surtuor. This area belongs to the core zone, the distance to shops and transport is only 5 minutes walk.

Despite the central location, the environment almost completely reduces traffic noise.
The Surtuor road ends as a dead end, the through traffic takes place about 5 rows of houses further down.

The architectural style includes traditional Engadine houses, village fountains, old wooden buildings, renovated residential and holiday homes and well-integrated new buildings. The streets are narrow, but that belongs to the old part of the village.
The living comfort is rather increased.
